We’re looking for our next Head of SEO to join our specialist digital agency at an exciting stage of growth. This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of our organic search offering and drive measurable growth across both our client portfolio and our own internal brands.
The Role
This is a senior, hands-on position that combines strategic thinking with leadership and delivery. You will shape SEO strategies that align directly with commercial objectives, oversee performance across client accounts and help define our own organic growth roadmap.
Working as part of a close-knit, collaborative team, you will guide SEO direction across our wider digital ecosystem. You will work alongside specialists in web, PPC, digital PR and development to ensure organic search is embedded throughout the full marketing mix.
You will also play an active role in new business. That includes supporting proposals and pitches through SEO audits, strategy development and clearly articulating the commercial value of organic growth to prospective clients.
Alongside client work, you will help shape the SEO roadmap for our own brands and digital projects. This means ensuring strong technical foundations, effective site structure and commercially focused content strategies.
In practical terms, you will:
- Develop and lead SEO strategies aligned to client commercial objectives
- Own SEO performance and organic growth across multiple accounts
- Collaborate with web and development teams to deliver technically sound, search-ready websites
- Oversee content strategy and optimisation initiatives
- Use AI tools responsibly to enhance efficiency within SEO processes
- Support SEO elements within new business pitches and proposals
- Identify opportunities to integrate SEO more deeply across the wider digital marketing mix
- Present strategy, performance and insights clearly to clients
- Support the ongoing development of internal SEO capability

Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience leading SEO strategy and delivering measurable organic growth
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate business objectives into clear SEO roadmaps
- A solid understanding of the wider digital marketing ecosystem, including web, PPC and digital PR
- Strong technical knowledge of WordPress websites, site structure and technical SEO
- Experience developing and optimising SEO-led content strategies
- An understanding of how AI is shaping search behaviour and content production
- Confidence presenting to clients and communicating complex ideas clearly
- Experience contributing to new business activity, including audits and pitch support
- The ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
- Experience mentoring or developing more junior team members is advantageous
Benefits
Depending on experience, we are offering a salary of up to £60,000. The role follows a hybrid working pattern, with a minimum of three days per week in the office and the flexibility to work additional days on-site if preferred.
You will be joining a small, collaborative team, working directly with two founders who have built a highly regarded agency with an excellent track record of client retention. There is genuine opportunity to shape the direction of SEO within the business.
