No.4 Boutique
A connected website and ecommerce platform designed to support the boutique from launch through to online growth.

Client Overview
No.4 Boutique is an independent fashion boutique in Esher, Surrey, which opened in early 2025.
We built the original website ahead of launch, creating a clean digital presence that reflected the boutique and gave customers a clear way to explore the brand, its collections and the in-store experience.
As the business developed, we expanded the site with full e-commerce functionality. Rather than creating a separate product-management process, we connected the website directly to the boutique’s EPOS system. Product changes made by the team in store can therefore flow through to the website automatically.
We also integrated shipping label functionality into the order workflow, making it easier for staff to download labels and prepare parcels for dispatch.
The result is a website that has grown with the business, supporting both the physical boutique and its online store without adding unnecessary admin for the team.
The Challenge.
The first stage of the project was about giving a new boutique a digital presence from launch.
The website needed to introduce the No.4 Boutique brand, showcase its designers and give customers a clear sense of the experience before visiting the store.
The next challenge came as the business expanded online.
Running an e-commerce website alongside a physical boutique can easily create extra administration. Products, prices and availability need to remain accurate across both environments and orders need to be prepared and dispatched efficiently.
No.4 Boutique needed an e-commerce setup that worked with the systems its team was already using, rather than creating another disconnected platform to manage.
Our Approach
We treated the website as an extension of the boutique rather than a separate sales channel.
The customer-facing experience needed to remain clean, visual and easy to explore while the technology behind it reduced work for the team.
Instead of asking staff to manage the same product information twice, we connected the ecommerce store with the existing EPOS system. That allows updates made as part of normal in-store operations to feed through to the website automatically.
We also considered what happens after an online order arrives. Shipping label functionality was integrated into the workflow so the team can prepare labels more easily when parcels are ready to leave the shop.
A website designed around the boutique experience
The original website gave No.4 Boutique a digital home from the point the business opened.
The design provides space for the products and brands to lead while also introducing the wider experience, including personal shopping, alterations, events and the boutique itself.
As the site has grown, that foundation has allowed ecommerce to become part of the same experience rather than feeling like a separate shop bolted onto the original website.
E-commerce connected to the EPOS
The ecommerce functionality was built around how the No.4 Boutique team already manages products in store.
Product information feeds from the EPOS into the website, meaning changes made by staff as part of their normal retail workflow are reflected online automatically.
That reduces duplicated administration and helps keep the physical and digital shop working from the same information.
For a boutique where collections and availability can change regularly, the integration also gives the team a more practical way to manage an expanding online catalogue.
A simpler fulfilment workflow
Selling online introduces another operational step: getting each order from the website to the customer.
We integrated shipping label functionality into the ecommerce setup so the team can download the labels needed to prepare parcels for dispatch.
It’s a relatively small part of the customer experience, but an important part of making ecommerce manageable behind the scenes. The technology handles more of the repetitive work so the boutique team can concentrate on customers, products and the day-to-day running of the store.
Built on strong SEO foundations
We don’t manage No.4 Boutique’s SEO, but the website was developed with strong SEO foundations from the outset.
That includes clear site structure, logical product and category organisation and a technical foundation that gives future search activity a better platform to build from.
The distinction matters. Our role was to make sure the website didn’t create unnecessary barriers to future visibility, rather than present this as an SEO campaign or claim search results we haven’t delivered.
The result
One product workflow across store and website
Connecting the ecommerce platform with the EPOS means product updates made in store can flow through to the website automatically, reducing the need to maintain separate product information manually.
A simpler route from order to parcel
Integrated shipping label functionality gives the team a more practical fulfilment process, helping them prepare online orders without adding unnecessary admin to the shop floor.
A platform that grew with the business
The original website supported No.4 Boutique from launch, then evolved into a full ecommerce experience as the business was ready to sell online. The result is one connected platform supporting both the physical boutique and its growing digital presence.
