British Airways Run Gatwick

Run Gatwick organise an annual Half Marathon. Gold winners of the Best UK Half Marathon at the National Running Awards in 2017 and 2019 as well as Silver in 2018, they attract runners from 21 different countries. They won Best New Event in 2019 making the British Airways Run Gatwick Half Marathon one of the most talked about events. The event is set in beautiful West Sussex & Surrey countryside catering for experienced runners through to families looking for something different to do.

Run Gatwick were looking for a local agency who could take over from their original provider. They wanted a proactive approach with fresh ideas for their website. There was some scope to add more projects with them, but they needed to find someone they could work alongside and who would add expertise in areas they couldn’t find in-house.

With extensive research, e-innovate soon realised that Run Gatwick is just one of thousands of runs taking place nationwide on a constant basis. However, the Run Gatwick event isn’t just a local community run, it’s a growing brand and therefore we knew that we had to reflect that in the website and any subsequent marketing work we carried out on their behalf. The site needed to have a clean, dynamic and elegant feel to it while being user friendly, informative and optimised.

e-innovate took over the project in 2018 and completed a total refresh of their website ensuring it was optimised and updated. Although this is just an annual event, it is growing year on year, so the website needed to attract new runners, be easy to navigate and reflect the high end and professional brand that Run Gatwick is. With the website finished, and a good working relationship having been built, e-innovate took on more projects with Run Gatwick. We work alongside their in-house team planning their marketing and digital strategy which is then implemented five months before each event. Taking management of the paid and organic marketing, building content, social media campaigns and reporting and tracking trends, we have helped ensure the half-marathon is bigger and better each year.

Having watched the company grow quickly, and having been part of the team that achieved this, we were delighted when Run Gatwick approached us to sponsor their event. Sharing similar business values and work ethics it was the perfect project for e-innovate to collaborate with. By sponsoring this event, we are able to support and network with local businesses, helping Run Gatwick grow even more as well as work alongside like minded, dynamic individuals who are all working towards one goal.
